From behind the booth to the front of the boardroom, sonic branding strategist and Michael Smith is a selector of choice for the world's most elite clientele. More than a decade ago, Smith started off DJing events in Los Angeles and has performed at hundreds of events for brands such as Vanity Fair, Chanel and BMW. He has performed with artists such as Rihanna, The Killers, Kanye West and at events including The Oscars, Olympics and South by Southwest.
Five years ago, Smith started taking his selection skills into a number of different business verticals. He has programmed background music for clients such as Standard Hotels, Lucky Strike Bowling Lanes, Intermix Stores and over 150 other top businesses. Additional projects in sonic branding include runway music for Louis Vuitton & Ferragamo, music supervision for ABC Network promotions and specials, and innovative projects for Jaguar involving coordinated music for test drives.
Smith, a native of Detroit, is based in New York and Los Angeles; he is a graduate of Northwestern University where he majored in economics and communications.
